The North Carolina Museum of Art offers an easy way to combine culture with time outside. Its Raleigh campus includes the Ann and Jim Goodnight Museum Park: 164 acres with art installations, gardens, wooded areas and recreational trails.
The museum lists the park as free to visit and open daily from dawn to dusk, including holidays. Indoor galleries follow a separate schedule. That distinction matters if the plan is a walk followed by an exhibition: confirm both before leaving home.
You do not need to turn a first visit into a long hike. Look at the current campus map, choose a manageable route and leave time to stop. The museum’s park resources include activities that invite visitors to notice the landscape as well as the art.
