Our Raleigh is an independently operated community publication, not a government website. We are not affiliated with, operated by or endorsed by the City of Raleigh or any local, state or federal government agency. Coverage of public agencies, links to official sources, and references to Raleigh do not imply government affiliation or endorsement.

Our reporting and community submissions are not official government notices or services. For official City of Raleigh information, announcements and services, visit raleighnc.gov. Sending a message to Our Raleigh does not submit a request to the City.

Using Our Raleigh

Our Raleigh is a community publication covering Raleigh, North Carolina. These terms describe permitted use of the website and contributions submitted to it. If you do not agree to these terms, do not submit material or use the site in ways covered by them.

Stories and visitor information

Articles provide general information. Hours, access arrangements, event details and other information can change. Check linked official sources before making plans. Archival photos may not show current conditions. This website is not an emergency reporting service; call 911 for an emergency.

Your contributions

You must be at least 18 to submit content. You remain responsible for what you send and must own it or have permission to grant the rights below. Do not submit material that infringes copyright, invades privacy, impersonates someone, threatens people, or presents claims you know to be false. Explain the basis for allegations and provide sources where possible.

You keep any copyright you own in your original work. For material you choose to submit for publication through this site, you give Our Raleigh a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to review, edit for clarity and format, publish, display, distribute and archive it, and to use excerpts or previews to promote that contribution on Our Raleigh’s site, email and social channels. This permission is not a transfer of copyright or permission to sell your work as a standalone product. You may publish your own work elsewhere.

This wording applies to submissions made under these updated terms. Earlier submissions remain subject to the permission given at the time unless you separately agree to an expanded use. Tell us about attribution requirements or restrictions before submitting.

Editors decide whether and how to publish a submission and may request clarification, decline it, correct it or remove it. Submission does not guarantee publication or payment. Any payment arrangement must be separately agreed in writing.

Using our articles and images

You may share links to our stories. For reproduction beyond rights allowed by law or an applicable license, request permission through Contact. Third-party photographs retain their credited ownership and license terms. Follow the license linked beside each image; a photo license does not automatically apply to the article text or site branding.

Sponsorships and outside links

Paid placements are labeled as advertising or sponsorship. Placement does not mean Our Raleigh guarantees a business, product or service. Sponsorship inquiries are requests for discussion, not purchases. Pricing, duration and other commercial terms require a separate agreement. Third-party websites control their own content and services.

Site integrity

Do not attempt unauthorized access to editor accounts, upload harmful files, bypass security controls, flood the site with requests or misuse personal information found here.

Availability and responsibility

We aim to keep information useful and accurate, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability, completeness or error-free content. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the site is provided as available without warranties. These terms do not exclude rights or responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Corrections and rights concerns

Use Contact to report an error, privacy issue or copyright concern. Include the page URL, a clear explanation, and a way to reach you. For copyright concerns, identify the original work and your relationship to its owner. We review requests before deciding what action to take.
