Plan around the part of the park you actually want to use. Dix Park’s general hours and the playground’s operating hours are different, and the water features have their own daily start time. Check the current visitor page rather than assuming everything opens together.
The plaza is a shared public space. Picnic Grove seating and grills are first come, first served, and walking distances vary between parking lots. The digital park map is useful for choosing an arrival point before the group leaves home.
